Wondering what's new?

it has been a long time and we have been busy.
We are back from Argentina after a fantastic trip in which we got to see the Iguazu falls (first time for Jeremy and kids) and we got to go to the beach in Santa Clara del Mar.
This time around we were in Argentina's North, East and South.

Martin and Eva had an Argentine-style b-day party at their Abuela and Abuelo's house. It involved a huge moon-bounce, many kids and 2 cakes! they were in heaven... I was thrill to be there and to have both my family and my grandma, Martín and Eva's bisabuela, sharing the moment with us.
Fun!!

Coming back wasn't easy,  yet when we arrived and saw the city blooming -- literally--
Flowers made us feel better. Washington DC has a terrible weather. It's always either too hot or too cold or too humid.
However there is a little window of time between March and May when days are gorgeous. Those are the only days when we don't miss CA so much.

We had a "spring Fair" at Martín's school.  Eva got face painting and Martin "hair painting".
It took a lot of arguing to get him to wash his head...

On warm days we have been having some "Swimming time" for Eva (even though temperatures where still under 70F).
She surprises people at the club with her fearless approach to swimming... here a movie of her skills:

We had a fun mother's day  Eva showed me how you are supposed to carry a baby:
And Martín made me a surprise creation with his pattern blocks for me to see when he was "asleep":

We are building a fence in the yard so Luna can run and play without destroying the house or jumping over the front fence and getting lost (as she has been doing for the last month). She's now officially huge and sweet. Is a giant with a puppy brain.

Eva turned 4 on april 22 and we had a party  that very day. She invited her friends from school and despite the beautiful spring season, that day it rained from dawn to dusk. So we had about 20 kids inside our little house. Yes it was crazy but they didn't realize and loved every minute of it. Eva was in heaven and still talks about her party.

So I should say, all is well. the house is messy as usual, the dog is still ruling the house, the kids are in bed around 9 and Jeremy and I are tired at the end of the day.

Formosa 2012

I just want to say i miss you all but... man I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK!. I have been sleeping and eating great (too much though) went to yoga a couple of times, and I am in charge of NOTHING it´s great.

We arrived to Buenos Aires on my mother´s birthday after a good flight during which both kids were so excited about that they behaved beautifully and their good spirits were celebrated by everyone around us.
So far things are going so well that Martin has already asked "when are we moving here?"
Once in Formosa we celebrated Abuela´s birthday with all of her friends and a ridiculous amount of Asado. It was great and dinner went on until about 4am and included a lot of dancing and chatting.

Since we set foot on Argentina both kids were asking ¨when are we going to the Campo?¨ and so we went to the farm a bunch of times already and we got to see a rodeo and a lot of action. Their favorite part has been riding horses and riding the truck on gravel roads seeing random animals go by.
So far we have seen toucans, all sorts of storks, alligators and road runners among other animals. The pigs with their piggies are a big hit and the cows and their babies have Eva very excited.

Martin had a fun birthday yesterday riding a horse at the family farm and chasing pigs and hens. he even got to ride a horse by himself for a little while. I was also able to ride with him and Eva, it was fun. He spent the rest of the day at my dad´s vet-shop playing with hamsters and carrying around guinea pigs. At night (around 9pm) we had an early dinner at one of this great restaurants with "Peloteros" moon-bouncers and kids toys so they ate quickly and  played while we all ate in peace. Then we had ice cream and by the time we went home they were both asleep. Eva has been barefoot so much that she has a blister. I am still not sure why she wants to be barefoot all the time but she loves it. she has been rolling in the yard wit my parents dog and eating like I have never seen her eat before. She loves all the cheese and meaty meals from northern Argentina I guess.

The city of Formosa has changed a lot since I left and it´s now a pretty town with a 10K long river drive-walk street (costanera) that culminates in a dancing-waters fountain. It really is pretty and both my kids have been going there every night hoping to get sprayed by the jumping water.

I have been drinking mate and eating "chipa" (I´ll let you google that) everyday so I´ll have to really exercise when I get back. I don´t care now though, I´ll worry about it when I get back.

The campo is beautiful,my parents are healthy and always in a rush just like I have always seen them, my brother Ramiro has now a nice house and is still dating the same woman (amazing) and my friends are all fine and happy.

this Saturday my mom organized a little party for Martin and Eva´s birthday. she rented a ¨pelotero¨(a moonbounce) and we´ll have all of my friends children plus all of her friends grandchildren. Martin and Eva have no idea who all this kids are, yet they are sooooooooo excited about the event that it´s funny. They´ll get to choose a cake and will have a balloons and I guess that´s all they care.
Jeremy´ll be here next Wednesday. I got him a ticket to come from Buenos Aires in one of the very fancy ¨Coche cama suite bus¨a huge bus with airline first-class like service. he´ll spend the day in Buenos Aires and then at night take the bus overnight to Formosa. From here we´ll try to make it to Misiones to see the Iguazu falls. Jeremy doesn´t know them and I think he should since it´s one of my favorite places. But we´ll tell you more about it once we go.

As for Great grandma Teresa, she´s fine, we saw her on briefly this weekend. We went to Corrientes to see her. She promised to come to Formosa this Saturday to be in Martin and Eva´s party. I am hoping she´ll actually come.
